Security of your information
Young Diggers seeks to comply with the Information Privacy Principles under the Privacy Act 1988 (Cwth) (the Act) in the collection, storage, use and disclosure of personal information in its possession. The Act provides for specific rights and remedies of individuals in the event of a breach by a non-government and not-for-profit organisation of its duties under the Act.
Membership and subscription lists
If you become a member or subscribe to a mailing list, your email address and any other personal information you might provide will be maintained on our membership and mailing lists or databases. The membership and mailing lists may be hosted by an external service provider. By becoming a member or subscribing to a mailing list you automatically consent to a representative of Young Diggers regularly contacting you via email, telephone or post to provide information, updates, help and assistance as required.
Your personal information will only be used for the purpose for which you have provided it and detailed above and will not be added to another persons or organisations membership or mailing list without your prior consent, which Young Diggers will seek through a request in writing.
We will not use your personal information for any other purpose and will not disclose it without your consent—unless where in all ‘good faith’ a Welfare Officer, Pensions Officer or Advocate of Young Diggers believes an emergency situation is occurring (or had) which may result in harm or a threat to yourself or others, or as determined by law.
