What can I do to help?

Ways to make Mum or Dad's day

Wash your hands without being asked at all those important hand-washing moments (after going to the bathroom, before eating, etc).

After Mum or Dad have cooked or make you a yummy meal, help clean up and do the dishes.

Make your bed, but don't stop there. Make Mum and Dads bed too.

How long has it been since you have seen the entire floor in your bedroom? Maybe it's time to tidy up your room. If you share a room with your brothers and sisters, even if they don't help, clean up anyway. Surprise Mum and Dad by showing them your tidy room.

The floor is designed to be walked on! Not act as a storage area for dirty clothes. Put all your dirty clothes in the washing basket. Even offer to put the washing machine on (get Mum or Dad's help if you don't know how).

Don't fight with your brothers or sisters. Or, if you must argue, do it quietly and don't involve Mum or Dad. Don't hurt each other in the process, that means physically or by saying bad or hurtful things.

Let Mum and Dad sleep in.

Make Mum or Dad laugh. Tell a joke, do a silly dance, or ask him or her to remember what they were like when they were little. Did you ever wear your underpants on your head? We thought so!

Make Mum and Dad a card telling them how special they are. It's wonderful when everyone smiles!
